There is not a better, more effective program to teach reading
“After using the Reading Revolution program in my Resource Room classes, I am convinced that there is not a better, more effective program to teach reading than Reading Revolution. The lessons are easy to follow. It is fun, interactive and the students learn!
I am a veteran teacher who has been trained in many other reading programs. For eight years, I used Orton Gillingham as my reading program of choice. Since the Reading Revolution Program incorporates the best of all reading programs in one, it was very easy for me to try it in the classroom.
I taught my second grade Resource Room class the beginners Reading Revolution reading techniques.

Administrator’s dream. Rewarding to see the progress made. One LD student improved 4 reading levels in 5 weeks.
I had encouraged one of our older LD students to be a helper in the class as a way to introduce and reinforce his own skills. On the first day of the program, A. came with a frown and attitude that he wanted no part of this program. On the last day of the program, he asked me if he could be a “helper” next summer for our younger students. He made tremendous progress (up 4 grade levels) and I told him he will be an assistant to his special education resource teacher in the fall. You should have seen his face light up!

I am amazed at how my students respond.
I am a veteran teacher of early child hood special Education students. The Reading Revolution program was introduced at our school 5 years ago. I am a strong believer in a multisensory approach to help differentiate learning.
These students have scored at the level 3 in the ELA (New York State English Language Arts) test that was given. Each year I use Fletcher’s Place, I am amazed how the students respond. My current students would rather do Fletcher games than anything else. It is a successful program that can be piggybacked onto any other good intervention program. I recommend it highly not only for Special needs students but for preschool –second grade students to help them with basic skills.
The games and center activities not only help differentiate learning, but also provide authentic social interactions with the students helping each other learn.

My students are more enthusiastic readers wth increased writing ability too. Previously discouraged students now excited about reading and writing.
As a second year teacher, I am still looking for fun and effective ways to teach my students. A few months ago, I attended a staff development workshop on Reading Revolution. I knew as soon as I attended the workshop that Reading Revolution would work for my students. My whole Kindergarten class loved the program; they especially enjoyed the videos and games, which made lessons fun and encouraged participation. As a result of the Reading Revolution, my students are more enthusiastic readers with increased reading and writing aptitude. All of my Kindergarteners are now able to write their own sentences. Students who previously felt discouraged about their abilities are now excited about reading and writing.
Reading Revolution is an easy to implement but very effective way to teach children of all ages how to read. I highly recommend it to all schools.
Works very well with ELL students

In a classroom of all ELL students, all Head Start eligible, given the challenges, results pretty amazing.
Teacher’s pronunciation improved too.
I like the program because the kids love doing the activities, and want to participate – so they really learn.
We get a new class of 4 year old children each year, who have not had Fletcher’s Place program before they start. A recent class of 24 was all low income, Head Start eligible children. This year none of the children have English as the home language - 23 speak Spanish, and 1 speaks Chinese. In the average year, 95% are non English speaking.
Another benefit of the program that I have observed is that teachers using and instructing with Fletcher’s Place improve their own English pronunciation skills as they teach. Since most of my staff – even those with a BA in Education – are not native English speakers, this improves their overall communications skills and benefits the whole program. I really believe that programs which implement this program as designed, will produce readers – who love reading – in many cases before entering kindergarten.

Sound movements show mouth positions which help ELL students prounounce correctly.
Our students come in September with absolutely no English but by January you should hear how well they are doing. We were thrilled with the growth in reading skills of our children. Fletcher’s Place uses Sound Movements and really shows the mouth positions which help ELL students to pronounce the sounds correctly.

I have been a NYC Elementary Bilingual School teacher for 24 years. I love using "Fletcher's Place" in my Kindergarten Dual Language Classroom. All of my 25 students are Hispanic and their native language is Spanish. After completing the Reading Revolution program in April, all of my students are able to read in English and they also developed an appropriate grade level comprehension of the written text. Another interesting development is that some of my students were able to transfer the English phonemic awareness to their native language and are now reading Spanish books too.

Effective because of its multi-sensory appeal that reaches all learning styles.
I have taught many reading programs but Fletcher’s Place tops them all.
95% of my students are able to give the sound and sound movements for all the letters and begin to decode words.
I’ve had students with no prior school experience or minimum background knowledge leave my class as fluent readers. I’ve taught many reading programs but Fletcher’s Place tops them all. I absolutely love it!

All the children love the program. Love the games. Sound movements make big difference.
All of the children in the K Inclusion class love the program. They love the games that are incorporated into lessons. The sound movements make a big difference in making the connection between letters and sounds so they begin to read. Even if they forget the sound, the movement triggers the correct sound and then they know it! I really do like the program.

Combining movements with sounds was a phenomenal idea.
Combining movements with sounds was a phenomenal idea that enables regular education and special education students to be successful in reading. Two and three letter words can be read almost immediately in the school year. I've found much success with Fletcher's Place, and I will continue integrating it with my school-wide reading program.

Teacher buying for use with her own child.
Many parents are inquiring about purchasing a set as I use the program in class.

Child ‘like a new person’ - with new confidence, willingness, desire to read.
I cannot thank you enough! In case your evaluation of the Fletcher's Place pilot program has even the smallest margin of "we could do better," I am telling you that it was a smashing success for my daughter
I can trace it all back to your program. She has a confidence - and a willingness - to independently grab a book or page out of a workbook and sit and work through it. That is something she simply hasn't ever done before,
and the timing is perfect since she starts school in a week. I thought that day was going to be a long time coming.
